House Rules with Coworking Spaces

Coworking spaces are shared offices. These spaces share the same looks as any offices there is, the only difference is that you’re sharing it with other people. It’s a thriving business because of property prices soaring, as a result, many companies are looking to find means to save and not get bankrupt for just buying or leasing office space. And with growing competition it’s likely that the price will soar.

There hasn’t been any general rule on what specific company should avail their services. What most people don’t know is that there isn’t any proper differentiation or sorting. These coworking spaces are so general that they rely on companies to figure out if coworking is, in fact, what they need or not. When you say coworking, people would think about a work environment that is uncontrolled. In a sense, that most are not your employees, but that’s not true. There are house rules in these places, and while there are things that are straight out from the paper, there are unwritten laws that you need to consider as well. These laws ensure that everyone is in check like a “bro code.”

Respect your time: There will be instances that there will be many people that will book the conference room, meeting room and so on for various reasons. If that is the case, you need to manage your own time. Start early and leave early. If any person would not vacate on time and you’re going to be late for your appointment, how would you feel? The best way to manage it, is to respect your own time.

Don’t make a scene: You have to understand that not all people are open to a Patch Adams character in the office. Some want to be left alone for them to get the job done and for all, you know the reason why they opt to be in an office setup is to get away from that. Unless you want to receive some complaints or memo, don’t do it. After all, if you’re in a middle of something important, the last thing that you want is a distraction from another company.

Take care of the place:You don’t want to arrive in a meeting room where everything is a mess, has spilled coffee, papers all around. It can also be worse like the projector is not working, the ethernet cable is no longer working and so on. No one wants to walk in on that. Anyone can get pissed even the most patient and forgiving of all people.

Coworking spaces are very popular because of the concept of cheap office space. It’s easy to think that since coworking spaces are all about sharing one space with the other, it’s going to be chaotic.
