It has been almost a decade since Fiesta came to India, but it still retains much of its charm. Especially the new Fiesta promises to be more up-market this time and it stands up well against the likes of Honda City, Nissan Sunny, Volkswagen Vento and Hyundai Verna. Ford has already announced a two-fold increase in its total sales, thanks to the new Fiesta. Ford Fiesta was once the most expensive car in its segment and now it is the cheapest car in the C2 segment. There are 8 variants of this car available in the market whose prices range from Rs. 8.23 lakhs to Rs. 10.42 lakhs.
Exterior and Interior
Fiesta is the first car from Ford to adhere completely to the Kinetic Design philosophy and it definitely looks smart. And it looks pretty sportywith its thin and tight Aston Martin type trapezoidal front grille with wide chrome slats, pulled back sleek headlights and a well-placed air drum. It will comfortably accommodate four or five full sized adults.The Fiesta is high on the features list like the SYNC unit plus Ford’s Applink System that helps to control mobile applications via voice commands and an Emergency assist function in case of accidents. These features are seen only in the top-line variants. Safety features like ABS, EBD and airbags are now provided as a standard feature across all variants.
Performance and efficiency
The Fiesta, in its latest form is available in diesel engine only. It has a 1.5-litre diesel engine coupled with a 5-speed transmission that produces 90 bhp power and yields 25.01 mileage. Fiesta is a very much enjoyable to drive car with its super driving dynamics.Fiesta will be offered only in Ambiente, Trend and Titanium trims. The one downside felt here is the absence of an automatic version. The old petrol models with automatic transmission have been discontinued. However Ford India could consider a re-launch of the ‘Power-shift’ model.
